Alternative Energy Sources (Lici Mixson)
Currently, the worlds leading source of energy is derived from fossil fuels including coal, oil, and natural gas. Every year globally, we use and burn roughly 15 billion tones of these fossil fuels, which in turn has resulted in decreased air quality in many cities and nations around the world, massive oil spills into oceans, lakes, and rivers, contamination of water sources, is a major contributor to our climate crisis today, and it has caused most countries to become dependent on a very finite resource that is predicted to be completely depleted by the year 2060 if we continue to use them at our current rate.
For many years scientists and climate experts have been researching new ways to provide the world's energy, one of which, being wind energy. Wind energy is using the naturally occurring winds of the earth to power generators and convert to electricity. Wind energy is seen as a viable energy alternative for many reasons, one being that wind is a renewable resource, because wind is a naturally occurring resource that we will never run out of or deplete. Wind energy is also seen as more viable because it poses no environmental harm. Wind energy has been proven to reduce carbon emissions, reduce the amount of wastewater that is produced, and has no effect on the air and water quality of the surrounding areas. With all the evidence that a converson to wind energy would significantly, benefit the planet in more ways than one, with very little to no significant drawbacks. Converting to wind energy is a proven way to produce the worlds energy in a clean, sustainable way that would allow us to begin to decrease the environmental impact that the use of fossil fuels has caused. With all the evidence to support the benefits of wind energy I see it as one of the most viable and promising alternative energy sources.

Good blog and nice use of pictures. Next time proof read it because I think whatever you used to type this autocorrected some words and now that I’m thinking of it I should have checked mine. But other than that it’s pretty solid and we talked about similar problems.

Adding to wind energy. The wind turbines cost more to put up every so many years than they are saving money. The only thing they are doing really is giving pollution free energy. Thinking about the factor of the factories that make the turbines are putting out pollution as well so it has its negatives.
